The year 1994 was a busy year for Gretna Christian Church.  Their minister was Cecil O. Rhodes.

The Officers and Teachers of Sunday School for the 1994-1995 year were

Superintendent:  Joe Kinsley
Asst. Superintendent: Ron Schlauch
Jr. Superintendent: Brandon Turner
Secretary: Steve Harris
Asst. Secretary:  Deborah Turner

Men's Teacher:  Ron Schlauch
Ladies:  Shirley Owen, Eliza Hines
Young Adult:  Kenneth Dalton, Ann Meadows
Youth:  Floyd Schlauch, Jenny Dellis
Junior:  Atha Bailey, Lisa Parker

On July 16th they held a one day Vacation Bible School. The children played games, sang songs and worked on crafts.  The teachers were Ruth Rhodes, Atha Bailey and Deborah Turner.  Music was directed by Eliza Hines and Jenny Dellis was in charge of the craft projects.  The Director of the Bible School was Linda Dalton and she also lead the games for the day.  After all the fun, games and songs a dinner was held for the entire church.

During that year the CWF starting compiling a recipe book project led by Lisa Parker.

The Building Committee comprised of Kenneth Dalton, Dick Lassiter and Mike Dellis reported that in July a new floor covering in the downstairs bathroom in the parsonage had been completed.  In the August and September, recessed lights were installed over the pulpit and a stoop with new steps and a handicap ramp was installed at the front of the church.

Dalton Harris and Steve Harris donated an air conditioner for the educational building in June which really helped during the summer months with all the church's activities.

The CWF kept busy that year with delivering 15 fruit baskets and several homemade pies to shut-ins.  Their June meeting was held at the Gretna Health Care Center to help celebrate the birthdays of two resident members, Gladys Kennedy and Ruth Owen.  On June 19th, they assisted in the 100th birthday celebration of Mr. Anderson Tuck which was held at the Educational Building.  In July, they organized Vacation Bible School which was enjoyed by adults and children.  In August, members prepared and delivered plate lunches to 21 shut-ins and organized an Ice Cream Social on August 28th..  In October, they sponsored a Halloween party at the Gretna Health Care Center.  This was definitely a CWF that was involved in the community and church.

Other activities at the church during that year were the Revival which was held October 9-12 and  An Old Timer Jubilee on October 15h.  Their yearly homecoming was on October 16th with Reverend Joe Lindsoe as the speaker.  And as always, Gretna Christian was involved in the Thanksgiving Community Service and the annual Christmas Program.
